Alex de Carvalho

Based in Miami, Florida, Alex advises on social media related projects and builds social net­works from busi­ness plan­ning to launch. Alex is cur­rently devel­op­ing VoxMed, a world­wide online com­mu­nity for physi­cians. He is the co-founder of StartPR, an online track­ing ser­vice for rep­u­ta­tion man­age­ment, blog­ger rela­tions, and brand mon­i­tor­ing. He is also an adjunct pro­fes­sor teach­ing social media at the Uni­ver­sity of Miami, School of Com­mu­ni­ca­tions, and at Miami-Dade Col­lege. He orga­nizes Social Media Club, Bar­Camp, Mobile Mon­day, and Refresh­Mi­ami mee­tups and con­fer­ences for South Florida new media pro­fes­sion­als. Alex obtained an MBA from Insead in Fontainebleau, France. He speaks Eng­lish, French, Por­tuguese, Span­ish and Finnish.

Seth Elliott

Seth Elliott has spent more than 15 years providing advice and support to entrepreneurs. In addition to consulting work, he has served has an executive officer for internet and technology startups, managed significant M&A and recapitalization transactions and been instrumental in raising more than $125 million of growth capital. Seth is a Partner and Co-Founder of Apheleon – an international consultancy that provides services to small and middle market enterprises. He currently writes about entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance at the Unchained Entrepreneur. He has served as a Venture Coach for The Launch Pad at University of Miami and an E-Coach for the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship. In 2003, Seth was a candidate for City Council in Lower Manhattan – an area that includes the site of the former World Trade Center. He holds an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Seth is currently completing a book on the process of obtaining growth capital from angel investors.
